The Boss PH-2 Super Phaser is the follow up to the successful Boss PH-1r. The PH-2 provides 12 step phasing and was marketed as their studio quality phase pedal to rival expensive units (such as the Mutron Bi-Phase)
 
The Rate knob adjusts the speed of the phase, the Depth knob controls the intensity of the effect and the Res (or Resonance) knob controls the feedback of the phase. There is also a 2 way mode switch to swap between a standard phase tone and a swirling rotating speaker style phase
