Made In Japan In May Of 1985
The Boss DSD-2 is exactly as the name indicates, a digital delay and a sampler in one. The delay can function in two ranges (short and long) with a total range of 50ms to 800ms. The sampler can be used to record a short sample and then recall it on demand by holding down the footswitch and has a limit of 800ms.The DSD-2 shares the same exact circuit as the DSD-3, with the only difference being the name. The reason for the name change was due to a price drop of semiconductors in the 1980's. This meant Boss could produce the pedals cheaper, so instead of dropping the price of the DSD-2 they decided to label it as the DSD-3.The E.Level knob controls the effect level, the Feedback knob controls the amount of delay repeats, the Time knob controls the length of the delays and the 4 way Mode toggle switches between delay settings and sampler settings.Produced from April 1985 until August 1986.
